Brandberg Challenge
The EHRA Team is climbing the highest mountain in Namibia to raise crucial funds for EHRA’s conservation work.
COVID 19 has meant that EHRA’s funding base disappeared overnight. Although we have some volunteers, we are not anywhere near to our previous capacity.
The elephants have headed back to the commercial farms, which is a dangerous situation and where we lost 3 breeding age females and one young male in 2020. EHRA needs to constantly monitor these herds and provide solutions to the conflict.
Therefore to financially keep going the team decided to take ACTION and challenge themselves!
The Brandberg stands at 2574metres and the ascent takes place over 3 days. It is tough!
You have to carry all your water and food
You sleep in the open on the mountain for 2 nights
There are wild animals!
Most of the team have never climbed a mountain before! Everyone is in training and we will be posting updates of our progress on Instagram and Facebook
We are aiming to raise 25,000 Euros
50GBP will provide enough fuel for one vehicle to take a 4 day patrol to check on the elephants
20GBP will provide enough food for one of the team to be out in the field for a month
10GBP a month will cover cell phone credit for our field staff and elephant guards
Please watch our video below and sponsor us! Any amount, even small, is greatly appreciated.
THANK YOU FROM THE EHRA TEAM, THE ELEPHANTS AND THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE SIDE BY SIDE WITH THESE AMAZING ANIMALS
