Located in the Tsaurab Valley, just 50km from Uis, EHRA’s Elephant Education Centre offers visitors the chance to learn more about Namibia’s desert elephants and the realities of living alongside free-roaming wildlife.
As part of our PEACE Project, the centre focuses on promoting understanding, safety, and coexistence through guided educational experiences for both local communities and travellers passing through the region.
Visitors can join an interactive tour, enjoy coffee and cake, browse locally made curios, and take in the surroundings before continuing their journey to places like Twyfelfontein, Etosha National Park, or Swakopmund.

For a unique staycation, EHRA offers its treetop Base Camp, set in a secluded area along the Ugab riverbed about 50 km from Uis. Guests can enjoy the outdoors, wide-open views, and, if lucky, sightings of free-roaming desert elephants at the nearby water point.
